When you see Jemma Leigh Wood's work, her joy for life, nature, music, dance and colour is immediately apparent.
Jemma lives in Bath and travels around Bristol and Wales working as a Draughtsperson/ Assistant Art Director in the TV & Film industry in the Art Department . She spends her day drawing film and tevevision sets and her spare time creating vibrant artwork .
It's a way to help me to relax from the fast-paced workplace & precise technical drawing, explains Jemma. "I am fascinated by the outdoors and nature, and I find music, dance and colour a huge inspiration. From originally studying theatre design & immersive theatre I found painting a way to combine my love of the preforming arts and creating an experience for the viewer."
Jemma doesn't currently have a set workspace, although she is in the process of converting her garage in to a studio. However she does love working outside. "I have always painted and drawn from a young age and any painting I do will come from a sketch while out and about or an idea that comes to me,
Jemma specialises in working in oil and acryclics, but has recently also started producing a range of lino prints.
In her spare time she enjoys running, contemporary & ballet dance. Along with music and enjoy playing the flute, piano and cello, all providing inspiration for her art.
